Autopilot
Learn more about North.Cloud's Autopilot powering Arctic.
Autopilot
Autopilot is an advanced addition to North Arctic that delivers fully autonomous, hands-off cloud commitment management. By enabling Autopilot, you allow North.Cloud to actively manage and move commitments in and out of your account, automatically aiming to maintain the best savings posture at all times.
How Autopilot Works
When you activate Autopilot, North.Cloud is granted an additional permission that allows it to take action on your commitments—buying, selling, exchanging, or repricing according to your real-time usage and Arctic's optimization engine. Autopilot leverages the same recommendations highlighted by Arctic, but takes action without need for manual approval, continuously adapting to your evolving environment.
Full Autonomy: North.Cloud can implement commitment moves and optimizations on your behalf, driving maximum efficiency and cost savings with zero manual intervention.
Seamless Experience: Enjoy a completely hands-free approach as Autopilot automatically reacts to usage changes, cost-saving opportunities, and new risk patterns.
Instant Control: Autopilot can be turned on or off at any time from within your North.Cloud dashboard. When disabled, all automatic actions cease, and you return to manual approval processes through Arctic.
Transparency: Every action performed by Autopilot is logged and auditable. You retain visibility into changes and the ability to reverse or refine decisions as desired.
Dynamic Alignment: Your policy preferences and risk tolerances are respected; Autopilot only takes actions consistent with your configured parameters.
Permissions and Approval
Enabling Autopilot requires an explicit approval process:
During Activation: The necessary additional permission is shared directly within the application as you review and approve Autopilot-specific terms of service.
Transparent Grant: You’ll see exactly what access is needed for autonomous commitment management, and must explicitly consent before Autopilot is activated in your account.
Revoke at Any Time: Permissions granted to Autopilot can be revoked at will, instantly disabling autonomous management and restoring manual control.
Why Enable Autopilot?
Stress-Free Savings: Let the platform maximize your cloud savings without day-to-day oversight from your team.
Always Optimized: React to new commitment opportunities and changing workloads automatically, capturing savings you’d otherwise miss.
Granular Oversight: Maintain full review capabilities, auditing every automated action and toggling Autopilot based on your evolving needs and comfort.
Getting Started
Begin Approval in-App: Start the Autopilot onboarding process within the North.Cloud application. You’ll be presented with the Autopilot-specific terms of service and detailed explanation of the required permission.
Explicitly Accept: Carefully review the terms and grant the additional permission directly in the application to enable autonomous management.
Monitor & Adjust: While Autopilot is active, monitor your savings and commitment changes anytime. Toggle Autopilot off or revoke permissions instantly if you need to pause or switch to manual mode.
Autopilot is designed for organizations who want to spend less time managing commitments and more time enjoying fully optimized, autonomous cloud savings with total clarity, flexibility, and control at every step.
